Director, Academic ADL Co-Laboratory

ADL Role:
Rovy Branon coordinates and directs activities of the Academic Advanced Distributed
Learning Co-Laboratory (Academic ADL Co-Lab) located in the Network 222 Building
in Madison, Wisconsin. As the Acting Director, Rovy is in regular communications
with the ADL Co-Lab Hub and Joint ADL Co-Lab Directors and the ADL Leadership Team.
Experience:
Rovy’s appointment to Director of the Academic ADL Co-Lab follows five years of
experience in the corporate sector at Eli Lilly and Company. At Lilly, he led the
Learning Strategy and Instructional Design team supporting U.S. Field Sales. Prior
to joining Lilly, Rovy served as a senior usability analyst with the online education
company UNext.com.
From 1991-1999, Rovy was the multimedia coordinator and planetarium show developer
for the hands-on science and technology museum Discovery Place in Charlotte, NC.
In that role he developed numerous multimedia programs and established the one of
the earliest web-based online communities for astronomy educators at Planetarium.
Net, which he still maintains.
In addition to his current role at the Academic ADL Co-Lab, Rovy is an adjunct faculty
member with Indiana University’s Instructional Systems Technology department.
Education:
Rovy received his B.A. summa cum laude in Psychology and Philosophy and his M.Ed.
in Instructional Systems Technology from The University of North Carolina at Charlotte.
He completed his Instructional Systems Technology Ph.D. coursework and is currently
a doctoral candidate at Indiana University.
