Influence of Course Design on Trainee Satisfaction

The goals of this project are to answer the following questions:

  • How should an instructor design a course to maximize student satisfaction?
  • Can students provide organizations with feedback for revising a course that will improve course effectiveness?
  • Will positive course reactions be shared and, over time, increase the demand for a particular course? Specifically, are students more likely to refer others to training or sign up for additional training courses if they react favorably to a course?
  • Will positive reactions improve the bottom line for training practitioners? Specifically, is the agency sponsoring training more likely to continue paying for training if students react favorably to the courses?

What does participation in this project entail?

To participate in this project, students will need to answer a few questions at the end of training to assess their course satisfaction and perceptions of the course design. Answering these questions will require 15 minutes or less per student. Additionally, course instructors will need to answer a few questions to assess their perceptions of the course design at the end of a training course. These questions will take 10 minutes or less per instructor.

You can participate in this project at any time. All you need to do is complete the instructor questionnaire and ask your students to complete their questionnaire.

There is a place at the end of the questionnaire for the instructor's e-mail address, which will ONLY be used to send feedback. The instructor will receive a customized feedback report free of charge. While it is understood that no computer transmission can be perfectly secure, reasonable efforts will be made to protect the confidentiality of your transmission. Also, the feedback report will only be sent to the instructor.
